PARAISO FASHION FAIR RECAP 2018 – MIAMI

It’s hard to believe that another week of swimwear and sunshine in Miami is behind us. PARAISO Fashion Fair 2018 was one for the books… It’s always a highly anticipated week, and months and months of prep went into ensuring its success. As we look back, we revel in so many amazing memories.

Being able to attend runway shows is always a highlight of the week. We were so inspired by the creations of designers and all of the creative aspects that added to the experiences of each show. From being welcomed to the MIKOH show with a lei to sitting in the jungle for the STONE FOX show, no details were missed. These shows remind us just how lucky we are to be in this industry. Being pushed by the best of the best, and supporting each other in the process.

Most brands showcased their upcoming line, giving us all an inside look to what we can expect to see on beaches around the world in the coming years. We noticed sleeves, high leg, exposed underwire and strong 90’s themes.

ACACIA

ACACIA just always gets it. Set in a parking lot high above Miami, ACACIA’s vibes were cool, sophisticated, relaxed, and dramatic all at once. The show showcased the swimwear in addition to the coverup, which made the line feel so complete and thoughtful.

MIKOH

MIKOH’s show was, as we expected, amazing. Upon entrance, guests received a lei and were quickly calmed by the beautiful ukulele performance. The designs translate the culture of the Hawaiian islands… Classic, simple and elegant. We loved seeing designs beyond swimwear in the show – long dresses and even a sweatshirt. MIKOH is always a standout.

Luli Fama

For a second, we forgot we were in Miami! Luli Fama’s newest collection was inspired by the South of Spain, and so it was only right that they began their show with a flamenco dance performance! The entire show was so lively and fun. The vibrant colors, underwire corsets and flirty prints mentally took us right to Spain.

KYA SWIM

Accessories and personality. That was one of the biggest takeaways from the KYA show! They really put on a fun and spunky show. The designs are feminine and know exactly how to accentuate the female figure. We love the cut outs and lace up details on their suits!

STONE FOX

Set inside a literal bamboo tunnel, Stone Fox Swim removed us all from the hustle and bustle of South Beach Miami, and transported us to their own secret oasis. Stone Fox Swim is based on the casual vibes of the California beach culture and we could really feel it. Bare feet, simple makeup and swept away hair, the models exemplified the line so well. The designs were diverse, from sleeves, to an adored marble print, perfect floral prints, high neck and lace up features, Stone Fox Swim impressively managed to touch on so many design elements.

GIGI C BIKINIS

This show was kicked with an Action Hero/007/Mission Impossible video that gave us all the feels. Models jumping off yachts and onto jet skis to complete their mission, in of course GIGI C BIKINIS. The line aims to give women fashionable swimwear that they’re able to be active in. They got the message across just right. The models followed suit, strutting down the runway as if they had a mission to complete. We love their color way and laser cut out features.
