In association with one of their best selling products, Monday Swimwear
shot the Summer Moments Collection along the shores of Mexico’s most renowned coastal city – Tulum. Featuring five new styles of swimwear and new innate colorway’s, the new collection comes with a warning: Muy picante.
But Tulum is more than just a pretty backdrop, it’s a place of culture, history, and tradition. From the language to the music, food, local art, fashion and landscapes, Tulum is built from a foundation of passion and hard work – and Tash and Dev absolutely fell in love with it.
There were so many aspects of this small city that are captivating, and arriving at our breathtaking hotel only added to the romance.
TRANSPORTATION
Fly into Cancún International Airport. (There are direct flights from most major cities!) To get to Tulum, your hotel will likely be able to set you up with a shuttle to bring you to town. We highly recommend that you stay on the beach road because it’s as charming as it sounds. You can easily get from one end to the other on bike – so once you’re there, there’s no real need to worry about cabs or a rental car, just relaxation and fun.

ACCOMMODATIONS
La Valise // A stunning boutique hotel overlooking palm trees and the most amazing sunrise you’ve ever laid eyes on. The Monday team was so lucky to have such a stunning location to shoot but the staff really made their stay extra special.
Papaya Playa Project // The Monday team also stayed at PPP, which is cocooned by the jungle on a pristine stretch of beach! The design of the hotel really stuns and evokes the traditional Mayan way of building.
BeTulum // One of the more luxury resorts, BeTulum is a charming and design focused resort.
Encantada // Encantada Tulum is a more affordable option, but equally amazing! It’s a boutique beach retreat.
ACTIVITIES
The beach! One of the best is El Paradiso right next to the Tulum ruins.
The Tulum Ruins! A must see.
Coba ruins
Cenotes: Bring your snorkel gear with you and you can see underwater caves and stalagmites. Tip: Take a taxi and pay your driver a little extra to have them wait for you while you jump in! Check out: Nicte Ha, Cenote dos Ojos, San Actun, Dos Ojos, Gran Cenote.
Mayan Clay Spa: (On the beach road) Get a massage here! You’ll be rubbed down with clay, and then cross the beach road (caked in clay!) to wash off in the ocean. Amazing experience! Plus your skin will feel so soft, and it’ll help with mosquito bites!
RESTAURANTS
Charly’s Vegan Tacos: Not just a Vegan favorite, non-vegans rave about this place as well!
Nu: One of the most beautiful restaurants in Tulum!
Casa Banana: Jungle Vibes!
The Real Coconut: Lovely spot, a lunchtime favorite!
Hartwood: A must go! Tip: Be outside the restaurant at 3pm to make an evening reservation. (Cash only!)
Antojitos La Chiapaneca: Any local will ask you if you’ve been here. It’s the local taco spot and it’s phenomenal.
El Camillo: This is the “famous” fish spot in Tulum.
El Tàbano: Good place on the beach road.
La Coqueta: Good place for burritos and cevice and a frosty margarita.
BEST TIME TO VISIT TULUM
Tulum has wonderful weather year round, but the three month stretch from October to December to known to be the best time to visit Tulum, as the hurricane season has passed and it’s not uncomfortably hot. January through March is the busiest time of year, so avoid going then if you dislike crowds!
