You may have already heard the exciting news that Natasha has made the decision to embrace a full vegan diet!
If you’re unfamiliar with what it means to be vegan, here’s the definition: “A vegan diet is one that consists of only plant-derived foods. Vegans don’t use or consume any animals or animal products including flesh (land or sea animals), milk, eggs, or honey… The most nutritious and inexpensive vegan foods which can be found in any supermarket, are fresh produce, grains, legumes and nuts/seeds.”
Tash has always maintained a well-rounded and healthy diet and lifestyle, but has recently become extremely passionate and aware of the harmful effects animal products can have on the human body, some of the harsh and inhumane treatment of the animals, and the negative effect mass production has on the planet.
There have been a lot of questions surrounding what is actually left to eat once you adopt a vegan diet… But the world of veganism is filled with plenty of yummy options that provide adequate nutrition, are equally as flavorful as non-vegan meals, and are often meals you already consume, and hadn’t even suspected were vegan! With so many people joining the vegan movement, many restaurants and hotels have added in plenty of delicious and nutritious vegan options to their menus.
Here’s an example of some of Tash’s favorite vegan meal substitutes:
Breakfast: Tofu and veggie scramble with mushrooms, peppers, kale, a side of corn tortillas and yummy salsa.
Lunch: A delicious quinoa and avocado bowl with peas and fresh mint.
Dinner: Creamy Mushroom Risotto
Dessert: Handmade vegan mint dark chocolate.
Tash has been using her social media following to share her message, encourage her followers to educate themselves on the topic and to become more aware of the benefits of becoming vegan. Some of her top documentary recommendations are Cowspiracy, Food INC, and What The Heath.
Note: Becoming vegan isn’t just about cutting foods out! We can’t emphasise enough how important it is to substitute and supplement when considering the transition! Tash recommends you research how to properly nourish yourself based on your own body type in order to get the most out of a vegan diet.
We’re so proud of her for taking a step in the right direction for her own body and for our beautiful planet. Well done Tash! x
