10 Free Gift Ideas for Valentine’s Day

Valentines Day is coming around pretty quickly which, when it comes to our lovers, means an opportunity for us to show them how much they mean to us. Obviously it’s fun to fantasise about all of the elaborate things we could do to make them feel super special and loved – but it’s not completely necessary. Incorporating fond memories and sentimental things into a V Day gift is such a great way to express your affection, but we’ve put together a list of our favorite ways to spoil our significant other:

Picnic
Treat your special someone to a romantic picnic for two. Head out to your local grocery store, pick out his/her favorite foods, (don’t forget the bottle of bubbly), grab a blanket and venture to a local park. It’s thoughtful, fun, and best of all, inexpensive.

Coupons
This gift is ideal for those whose significant other’s love language is ‘acts of service’. Coupons are an easy way to show someone your love for them. Print out a template and create your own coupon booklet in as little as 15 minutes and at almost no cost at all.

Massage
Whether you decide to book a couple’s massage at a local spa, or massage your lover yourself in the comfort of your home, massages are a great way to feel intimate and connected. Hint: Perfect for anyone whose love language is ‘physical touch’.

Bake their favorite dessert
Rumor has it- the way to a man’s (or woman’s) heart is through his stomach. Surprise your love with their favorite decadent chocolate lava cake, (or whatever their poison may be), pour a glass of vino and cheers to the two of you.

Dinner for Two
Mix it up by ordering your favorite meal with a Valentine’s Day inspired theme.

Make a Valentine’s Day Card
Cards are such a romantic way to tell that someone special how you feel. Get creative and don’t be afraid to show your humor and true sense of self – that’s what they love about you!

Wine Tasting
Take your V-Day date to visit a nearby winery and enjoy authentic wine tasting by the vineyard. (Most wineries have flights for $15 per person). Or, check out a local tasting room in town.

Beach Camping
For the outdoorsy and adventurous type, try reserving a campground spot for the two of you. (Most state beaches require advanced reservations, so make sure to call ahead). Bundle up together by the fire pit and watch the stars, take a long, barefoot stroll on the beach, dip your toes in the water, or for those brave enough, go for a night swim.

Museum
Walk through a contemporary art museum, or your hubby’s favorite photography gallery. For those in Los Angeles, visit The Getty Villa and enjoy its gorgeous view of Malibu. (Plenty of art exhibits are completely free or charge just a small entry fee).

Local concert
Search online for local events. Often small, local artists and bands will perform for free at restaurants, parks, events, etc. Maybe you’ll discover your new favorite artist!

Valentines Day is special, but we also believe that you shouldn’t confine expressing your love to only one day of the year… Keep it romantic, and spring fun things like this on your lovers from time to time! X
