FIVE TIPS ON GETTING GREAT LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY
-
From above like in A la Plage, try to look for shapes, patterns, and pops of colors
-
Think of the water, sand, mountains, etc think as if it’s a character who’s story you’re trying to convey in your shot
-
Decide which character you’d like to be the focus of the shot; it could be the water with glimmers of reflection coming through or a scattering of umbrellas over the rocks below.
-
From the ground, like my La Dolce Vita series, the best thing to do when you somewhere that you’ve never been before, spend time taking it all in. Take a long walk, hike, bike ride, or drive and try to see the location from a variety of vantage points.
-
Always be mindful of your light and how it enhances your shot
