Belly Bloat Be Gone

Nothing kills your confidence in a bikini more than annoying belly bloat. Despite your regular exercise routine and overall healthy diet, there are still some days where you just feel as bloated as a balloon. Luckily, there are some foods you can eat to avoid it! All you have to do is stock up on these debloating delights and you’ll be bikini-ready again ASAP.

Water- Lots of it! Keep a water bottle with you at all times in order to flush out the toxins from your body and eliminate the extra salt from your system, which is a major contributor to bloat. You can add lemon to your water for even more debloating properties, since lemons are a natural diuretic and will help reduce the amount of salt retained in the body.

Papaya- Papain and bromelain, which are enzymes found in papaya, break down protein and ease the digestion process.

Pineapple is also rich in papain and can achieve the same bloat fighting properties.

Yogurt- The probiotics found in yogurt are good bacteria that regulate the health of your entire digestive tract. The active cultures, lactobacillus and acidophilus, improve symptoms of bloating, but make sure to choose a yogurt that is not highly processed or contains artificial sweeteners. If you can’t stomach the thought of eating yogurt plain, sweeten it yourself with some honey, agave or jam!

Bananas- Bananas are full of potassium, which prevent water retention in your body by regulating sodium levels.

Melon- All types of melon are beneficial, but watermelon specifically has the greatest debloating benefits due to its high water content.

Watermelon is also a great source of potassium which is vital when it comes to battling bloat.

Asparagus- This anti-bloating superfood flushes out any excess water from your system, alleviating any discomfort or puffiness. The soluble and insoluble fibers found in asparagus also promote overall digestive health.

Herbal Tea- Teas such as peppermint or chamomile soothe inflammation and help relax the digestive tract.

If you want to kick your debloating into high gear, you should also AVOID:

Gum- Chewing gum causes you to swallow more air which can result in bloat. Gum also contains sugar alcohol, another contributor to bloat.

Salty food- The most obvious culprit of bloat. Try to stick to whole, fresh fruits and vegetables.

Straws- Opt to drink straight from the glass if you want to avoid consuming extra air.

Alcohol- Drinking too much alcohol can cause dehydration, which results in bloat from your body holding on to any fluid it can.

It is important to keep in mind that foods effect everyone’s bodies in different ways. The most important thing is to listen to your body and notice what it is that is causing you to feel bloated or uncomfortable. Also try not to stress too much about it; it’s a part of life!

    1. We try to keep water on us at all times and drink consistently throughout the day. You can’t go wrong with 2 liters a day!

  2. YOU SHOULD WRITE ABOUT WHAT CAUSES BLOATING IN THE FIRST place AND TO AVOID THEM, MAINLY WHEAT PRODUCTS, DAIRY PRODUCTS AND PROCESSED FOODS WITH HIGH LEVELS OF REFINED sugars. THEse ARE HIGHLY ACIDIC FORMING IN THE BODY CAUSING mucous PRODUCTION AND WATER RETENTION. PEOPLE WHO AVOID these HAVE SEEN THEIR BLOATING DECREASE SIGNIFICANTLY IN just two WEEKS.
